Slice: THE BENEFITS OF ARGAN OIL

by The House of Yoga | 21-12-2016

It seems coconut oil is getting all the attention these days. But, there are other oils with amazing health benefits that deserve some time on the center stage. One of our favorites at The House of Yoga is argan oil.

Argan oil comes from the kernels of the argan tree that grows in Morocco. It is used both in enhancing the health benefits of your food and more commonly in natural beauty products.

Here are three ways to use this oil known for its well-rounded properties, containing vitamins, phenols, carotenes, and fatty acids.

  1. Culinary use – dip your bread or use on salads or pasta. Consumption of argan oil has been linked to the prevention of cancer, cardiovascular disease and obesity.
  2. Cosmetic oil for skin – Argan oil is known for it’s skin-nourishing and skin-healing properties. It is wonderful for dry, wrinkled or scaly skin.
  3. Hair brilliance – Argan oil has wonderfully hydrating and rejuvenating properties for the hair and scalp, without creating an overly oily ‘look.’

Be sure to source organic, fair trade oil. Our favorite is ShazaraEnjoy exploring this wonder of the Earth.
